Trained spotter reported penny-sized hail near Georgia Ave in Summerville.

April 10, 2009 · 2.0″ (hen egg)

A CoCoRAHS spotter observed 2.0 inch diameter hail near Lyerly. The Chattooga County Emergency Management Director reported golf ball-sized hail in the far southern part of the county around Chattoogaville. This hail occurred from a separate thunderstorm from the one that spawned a tornado just southeast of Summerville and also dropped penny to quarter-sized hail across the northern part of the county.
