Broadcast media relayed photos of 1.5 inch to 2 inch hailstones from social media.

September 25, 2012 · 2.5″ (tennis ball)

Large hail fell across Trenton. Some of the hail stones were up to tennis ball size. Several cars had their windows broken out or cracked.

April 28, 2012 · 2.75″ (baseball)

A swath of large hail was reported in the New Baden area. There were numerous reports of vehicles with their windows broken both in town and along Interstate 64 between mile markers 27 and 30. The largest hail stones were baseball size.
