An MPING report of dime-size hail was received from the public.

April 3, 2004 · 4.5″ (grapefruit)

Supercell thunderstorms moving northeast into the extreme southwest portion of Brewster County produced grapefruit to softball size hail for 22 minutes. Reports indicated that the softball size hail occurred around 530 pm CST.

June 15, 1997 · 4.5″ (grapefruit)

North of where the RFD winds caused damage, hail up to softball size smashed car windshields and pummelled a couple of houses. One gentleman, who was attempting to close a window, was injured when hail broke the window and caused several facial lacerations. He was taken by private vehicle to the Alpine Hospital. A second man suffered minor cuts on his legs.
