Local broadcast media relayed a report of quarter size hail in Tokio.
· 3.5″ (softball)
Numerous reports from storm chasers indicated a swath of hail from approximately six miles north of Brownfield to nine miles west-northwest of Brownfield. Hail ranged in size from tennis ball size to 3.50 inches in diameter. No damage was reported at the time.
· 4.5″ (grapefruit)
Local officials reported that very large hail, possibly accompanied by severe winds, caused damage in the Meadow vicinity. Hail up to the size of softballs reportedly shattered numerous windows at a school in Meadow.
